ASOIU’s “Healwith” project shortlisted for the “QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025”
The
“Healwith” innovative project of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry
University (ASOIU) has been shortlisted in the “Sustainability Education
Action” category of the prestigious “QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025”
international competition.
More than
1,600 projects from different countries worldwide were submitted to the
competition. Based on the evaluation of an international jury consisting of
over 800 experts, “Healwith” has been ranked among the top 20% of successful
projects globally. The main goal of the project is to strengthen the resilience
of agriculture, improve farmers’ welfare, and contribute to Azerbaijan’s food
security. It also represents an important step towards the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goal 15 – Life on Land (Conservation of terrestrial
ecosystems).
“Healwith”
is a mobile application designed for farmers and plant growers. By simply
taking a photo, users can detect up to 100 common plant diseases at an early
stage and receive treatment recommendations. This technology reduces pesticide
use, lowers treatment costs from 60 AZN/ha to 15 AZN/ha, and increases
productivity.
It should
be noted that the “QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025” is organized by the
prestigious QS (Quacquarelli Symonds). QS is one of the world’s most recognized
higher education ranking agencies, well-known not only for its international
university rankings but also for its global initiatives that evaluate
innovations in education.
