ASOIU students have put forward an initiative to convert vegetable oils into biofuel

The Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) has declared November as the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Month." Within the project, environmental initiatives are being implemented at the university to protect the environment, promote the efficient use of resources, and advance the circular economy.

As one of these initiatives, used vegetable oils collected in ASOIU's cafeteria were not discarded as waste but were handed over to Bioropean Limited Liability Company (LLC), and they stated their goals and ideas.

It should be noted that these oils will be processed by the company and used in the production of biofuel (biodiesel). The conversion of the submitted oils into biofuel contributes to the reduction of waste, the expansion of renewable energy sources, and the minimization of the carbon footprint.

This initiative is considered an important step in increasing students' environmental responsibility and promoting the principles of sustainable development.
